Crop Top Crochet Pattern Ocean Blue

This pattern is an example for a medium size woman crop top. But  it is very simple to measure for  other sizes. One thing to have in mind at the time of casting on is that, if you have a very small torso compare to your chest adjust the cast on amount so that it fits lose not tight on your torso. Otherwise you wont be able to put on your top. Other alternative can be to add buttons at the back.
I have divided the instructions in 3 pieces foundation, increases and sleeves, each with individual set of  rows.

If you need help with this pattern, please click on the link below, for a complete video tutorial. It explains in detail all the steps from start to finish.

Abbreviations:
CH= Chain
ST= Stitch
SC= Single Crochet
DC= Double Crochet
Materials:

-          5mm Hook

-          #4 (medium) Yarn, I would recommend cotton or a blend of cotton with other artificial yarn.

-          Tapestry needle

Instructions
Foundation:

   Cast on 93 Chains for a medium size or make enough chains to go tightly around your torso, CH1 and turn your work. Please read the first paragraph.
Row 1: SC into the second ST from the hook, SC entire row, CH1 turn your work

Repeat row 1 until you have reached 4 1/2”.

Increases:

Once you have reached 4 1/2” find the center of the piece and place a stitch marker. With a measuring tape, measure 4” from the center of the piece on each side and place 2 stitch markers on each side. Now you should have 3 Stitch markers, one on the center and 2 on each side 4” apart from the center.

Row 1: SC until you have reached the first marker, make 2 SC in the ST where the marker is placed.  Continue SC until you have reached the third marker and make 2 SC, SC until the end of the row, CH 1 turn. Now you should have 2 SC in the first marker and other 2 in the third marker.

Row 2: SC until you have reached the 2 SC in the first marker, make 2 SC in each of the 2 ST, SC until you have reached the third marker, make 2 SC in each of the 2 ST, SC until the end of the row, CH 1 turn. Now you should have 4 SC in the first marker and 4 SC in the third marker.

Work SC rows until you have reached 3 1/2” from the first increase row up.
Sleeves:
Count 18 ST from the beginning of the row, place a marker on the 19th ST. Count 10 ST from the marker and place a second marker on the following ST, that is where your first Sleeve will be placed. Do the same on the other end.
Row 1: SC until you have reached the first marker, CH 40 ST, joint the chains on the ST following the second marker. SC until you have reached the second sleeve and do the same. SC until the end of the row, CH 1 turn.
Row 2: SC entire row, finish with CH 2 turn.
Row 3: CH 2, DC into the third ST from the hook through the back loop, * CH 2, DC into the third ST from the previous DC through the back loop *, repeat from * to * until the end of the row.
Row 4: CH 2, make 3 DC into the first space, SC into the following ST, * 3 DC in the following space, 1 SC in the following ST *, repeat from * to * until the end of the row. Finish with a slip stitch, cut the yarn leaving a long tail.
Thread the tapestry needle with the tail , close your top.
